STEPHEN SEEMAYER | Dark Side of Paradise

May 18 through May 25, 2024
Opening Reception: Saturday, May 18, 5-8 pm

Bermudez Projects is proud to announce the 2024 Senior Student Art Show, in partnership with the Alliance Leichtman-Levine Family Foundation Environmental Science High School. Over 20 artworks by 14 artists will be exhibited throughout the gallery in support of this year’s graduating class whose artworks run the full gamut of creative media.

Paintings, drawings, watercolors, collages, digital art, sculpture, prints, photography, and much more will come together highlighting the artists’ personal interests, creative output, and sensibilities. Audiences will have an opportunity of engaging the artists and learning more about their work during the opening reception.

What will stand out for sure is how open and honest each artist is about their subject matter. Unabashed, candid, playful, and even absurd – in a good way – is perhaps the key takeaway from this exhibit.

And, Bermudez Projects wouldn’t have it any other way.

Adhering to its mission of presenting artworks by the next generation of American artists, the gallery was extremely excited when Erin Belefski, Alliance Leichtman-Levine Family Foundation Environmental Science High School’s visual arts teacher presented this partnering opportunity.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the incredible artwork created by our Senior Advanced Art Class,” says Belefski. “This year, we’ve had the privilege of collaborating with the esteemed local gallery, Bermudez Projects. [Owner and director] Julian Bermudez, has generously extended his expertise to our art students, guiding them through the intricacies of the gallery process and offering insight into their artistic journey.”

“These students are extremely talented, and I know audiences will be wowed by this next gen of artists,” exclaims gallery owner Julian Bermudez. “What’s more is that many of these artworks are available for purchase. And, that means these students will have an advantage of their work shown in a commercial gallery, and learning the business side of art. And, that is just as crucial for a career in art, as honing one’s talent.”
