I hope that you and your loved ones are at home, safe and healthy. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by the Coronavirus pandemic – from the victims to everyone suffering economically from all the shutdowns.
To say that the past few weeks have been filled with uncertainty and difficulty is an understatement. Like everyone else, I have been experiencing the COVID-19 crisis as a constant, ever-changing series of challenging developments, not knowing what the next day will bring.
In these unprecedented circumstances, the well-being of our staff, artists, and all our visitors is paramount. As we continue monitoring this situation very closely, we are following the expert guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). We have implemented measures to help prevent the spread of this virus by instructing our employees to work from home; implementing best practices for social-distancing; maintaining a constantly clean environment; and reevaluating methods for continuing our exhibition programming.
Therefore, upon careful consideration and after long discussions with our artists, I am announcing our commitment to continue our 2020 exhibitions, as well as our operations as a gallery that will be open virtually.
I am pleased to inform you that you may visit our gallery virtually through our various digital and social media platforms, including our Website, Instagram and Facebook feeds, and our new partner, Artsy! I encourage you to explore our exhibits, artworks, and artists from the comfort of your own home and to contact us for details about anything you see that interests you. New digital content will be dropped in the coming weeks, so be sure to visit often.
During these especially difficult times, I truly believe in the power and resilience of the Human spirit; and in art’s power to heal, inspire, and transform. I am encouraged by the kindness each of you brings to our community. And, I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation to each and everyone of you.
As we navigate this situation, know that we are All in this together. Take care of yourselves, your families, your friends and neighbors, your fur-babies, and your community.
